Location of Saham Fort
The fort is located in the heart of Saham Wilayah, about 150 kilometers north of the capital Muscat. Its strategic position just 500 meters from the beach made it a historical defensive point for the region.
History and Construction
The fort dates back to the 17th century during the Ya'aruba dynasty, with some evidence suggesting its foundations might be even older. It was completely restored in 1993 as part of Omani heritage documentation projects.
